Most control line kits are designed with beam mounts for an IC engine. Brodak conversion kits enable you to change the mounting from beams to a firewall, and put the battery where the fuel tank used to go. Kits for full fuselage models typically have the battery access hatch located conveniently on the TOP of the fuselage. Conversions for profiles usually have the motor and battery centered on the profile fuselage, with the battery access on the inboard side; i.e., centrifugal force helps hold the battery in the box. All conversion kits come with illustrated installation manuals.
Universal Kits are designed to be generic and be adaptable to many designs – including scratch built projects or kits not made by Brodak. The conversions designed for specific Brodak kits are integrated a little deeper into the structure. Most include provisions to add a pocket to the leading edge of the wing to maximize the length of the battery tray.
