Blue Angel Electric Conversion
Quick Overview
BH-1928Quick Overview
This conversion kit is designed for the Classic Legal Brodak Blue Angel – (#CLB-66) designed and flown by Larry Scarinzi to 3rd place at the 1964 National Championships. Back then Larry used a Fox 59 with an 11x7 prop - on the noise spectrum that was about as far from electric as you can get! The Brodak 2826 motor is more than adequate, but there is room even for large frame motors like the Brodak 3520. This installation is designed to front mount the motor and includes a side battery hatch which is excellent for securing the battery while clearing the canopy on top and the nose wheel below. The installation also includes building a pocket into the leading edge of the wing to allow the battery to be pushed aft for the CG adjustment.
Details
The installation is designed with a removable cowl for motor access and a removable lower front block for ESC access. It is also designed to ease installation of the FM Hornet Timer and the Maxx Products Arming switch - see "Other Items Required" listed below.
