Smoothie Electric Conversion
Designed by Dennis Adamisin to build your Smoothie for electric power. Includes 6 laser cut sheets, a couple other misc. parts and photo illustrated instructions.
This conversion is designed for Bob Palmer's Original Smoothie (CLB-52). The conversion is designed to front-mount the recommended Brodak 2820 (#BH-2074) motor. There is also room for an oversize Brodak 2826 (#BH-2076) motor. Conversely, if built light (around 40 ounces) it should be possible to use a 2815 class motor. Battery access is through the inboard fuselage side; thus, centrifugal force helps retain the battery. The battery compartment is long enough to allow the recommended 4Sx2700 battery (BH-1847) to be moved 1.5" fore/aft to fine tune the balance point of the airplane. The bottom nose block is designed to be removable to ease installation and access to the electric power system components.
