Details

Originally in 1933, by Noel Hockaday of Rear wing frame, the first Porterfield was built by a high school class in Kansas City. Ed Porterfield was impressed by its performance and bought the rights to produce the plane. To be truly marketable, a better engine was needed, and the new Continental, Lycoming and Franklin opposed 4 cylinder models was just developed. This is a true scale Bill Schmidt design.
