As a successor to the relatively popular Aeronca K model just before WWII, the Aeronca Chief was not as widely known as its next iteration, The Super Chief. At the same time, its place in history is secured as the predecessor of its widely accepted Aeronca Champ and all of the other variant side-by-side Aeroncas that followed immediately after the conclusion of the war.
