This Brodak 2212 motor replaces the Arrowind 2210 (BH-1836) which is out of production. Made for us by StarPower Hobby Co Ltd, the size nomenclature depicts the internal dimensions (per normal Brodak practice). The stator diameter is 22mm and the magnet length is 12mm. Thus, new motor is 2mm longer internally and has a lower KV which enables it to turn a larger prop than the motor it replaces. However, the exterior diameter of the motor shell is 28mm and the external length of the motor is 28mm; about the same as the older/less powerful motor. The new motor is designed for rear mounting (firewall style) only, it cannot be front mounted. With the prop adapter installed the length from mounting surface to prop drive is 4mm shorter. The new Brodak 2212 is designed for rear mounting and uses a bolt-on prop adapter. The X-plate has the same mounting pattern (34.5mm bolt circle) and the motor itself uses the same 16mm x 19mm bolt pattern as the previous motor. The overall length of the motor is 4 mm shorter from the prop adapter to the back of the X-plate mount. The motor with X-plate and prop adapter is 6 grams heavier than the obsolete motor.
