Information Regarding Brodak Mufflers

While we strive to make our mufflers to the highest standards, we find it difficult to accommodate every engine ever produced.

It must first be understood that all our mufflers are designed to fit engines equipped with fore-and-aft muffler lugs or tapped holes in the exhaust stack. To use them in a “Strap-On” mode, the purchaser must fabricate his own attachment hardware.

Furthermore, it is a fact that many engines were first produced without muffler lugs but then acquired them in later productions. The Super Tiger G 46, 51, 56 and 60 are typical examples.

Another example to consider is the Fox 40. There were a number of different versions on this engine, some with no mufflers lugs and others with different spacings.

Some Enyas, like the model 5224 had small dimples on the exhaust stack. These can be drilled and tapped for attaching mufflers. 

One must also consider the fact that some mufflers have threaded mounting holes – the bolts enter the lugs from the bypass side of the engine. Other mufflers have through holes – the bolts go through these holes and thread into tapped holes on the exhaust stack.

It would be impossible for us to have every engine ever made here at our facility. Therefore, we cannot accommodate every muffler. So, if you have an engine that needs a muffler and it is not listed, please click on each respective muffler and check the exact spacing measurements to see if one will work for you.
