Quick Overview
The Stuka, designed by Hi Johnson, appeared in the 1960 Model Airplane News Annual and was reported as “one of the most spectacular scale-stunt aircraft ever designed”.Specifications
Wing Span: 59" Wing Area: 588 sq. in. Engine: .29 to .40Details
Most unique feature with the Stuka is the Polliwog airfoil which with the constant wing taper from root to tip performs beautifully thru the full range of maneuvers without flaps. For a complete dissertation by Hi regarding this design, reprints of the article are available from the AMA museum library. The BMJR Stuka is true to the original design with some construction changes allowed by laser cutting technology. For instance what plagued builders in the 60’s was building the wing straight. This has been overcome in the BMJR kit by using a full depth spar with tabs on both spar and each rib to allow building the wing in one piece “flat” on the building board. Adding as much scale detail as desired, this model is a pleasure to build and fly.Additional Information
